PDC World Darts Championship Betting Tips: Some Outstanding Value for Week 2

The Darts World Championship is well underway now, and so far there have been few shocks with the likes of Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson and Phil Taylor all strolling into the second round: good news for punters.

Those were all odds-on winners of course, so our attention turns to finding some better value punts now that week 2 of the tournament has commenced. And we think we have found four crackers to usher in the remaining four days of action prior to Christmas.

Corey Cadby to beat Joe Cullen (23/20)

A bit of a leap of faith this one as Cadby has to win a preliminary round match prior to meeting Cullen, but we have complete confidence in the Aussie seeing off Qiang Sun in the first match of Monday evening’s session.

The World Youth champion will then tackle Cullen in the first round proper, and if he shows anything like the form he did in that final in Minehead in November – and the Bradford thrower plays as badly as he did in his Players Championship tussle with Michael van Gerwen – then there really is only one winner.

Cadby averaged over 98 in the World Youth final – his first televised match in the UK, while Cullen was hopeless that same weekend as he went down 2-10 to Raymond van Barneveld. Expect the Aussie to be a real handful here.

Raymond van Barneveld Most 180s against Robbie Green (Evens)

If ever there was a player that raised his game at the Alexandra Palace showpiece it is van Barneveld, who seems to revel in the big tournament atmosphere. He has reached four semi-finals and one quarter in his past seven visits, and a decent showing at the Grand Slam of Darts suggests the form is bubbling up nicely.

Even for a player as experienced as Robbie ‘Kong’ Green there is likely to be nerves around as he makes his first pilgrimage to Ally Pally, and while traditionally a power scorer we have to give RVB the edge here given his form on the big stage.

Jelle Klaasen Over 4.5 Maximums against Jeffrey de Graaf (5/6)

There are some tungsten tossers who play completely on rhythm, and whose performances improve as a consequence of playing opponents who too prefer a quicker style of play.

As such, Jelle Klaasen – one of the fastest slingers around – should enjoy himself against Dutch compatriot Jeffrey de Graaf, who certainly doesn’t muck about on the oche.

Klaasen is a former BDO world champion who reached the last four of this tournament in 2015, and few on planet darts can match his penchant for a maximum.

Kim Huybrechts Over 4.5 Maximums against James Wilson (5/6)

As above, so below. Huybrechts and Wilson will toe the oche on Thursday night and again both men will look to keep a nice pace to the game. That will suit the Belgian, who is as heavy a scorer as anyone when in the mood.

Huybrechts averaged over 100 against Peter Wright in the Players Championship quarter-finals before going down in a last leg decider, so the Hurricane will be looking to take that form to the Alexandra Palace. Wilson will push him hard, which will help that 180 count creep up.
